Molecular Epidemiology
Dr Amin has a background in mathematics and statistics and received her PhD degree in genetic epidemiology from the Erasmus University Rotterdam, the Netherlands in 2011.
Her main area of research is identifying biomarkers for neuro-psychiatric traits using plasma/CSF/brain-based and single cell-based integrative multi-omics research. She works with molecular data including genomics, epigenomics, transcriptomics, proteomics and metabolomics as well as gut microbiome. She is also interested in identifying causal relationships using Mendelian Randomisation, and translation of her findings using cell-based research.
Dr Amin has had over 330 scientific research papers published in various international journals and ranks among the top 200 women in science in the world.
