DPhil Student

Prerna began her DPhil in Population health in October 2024. She is working as a part of the MaatHRI project at National Perinatal Epidemiology Unit (NPEU) to understand the effect of gestational weight gain and change in haemoglobin on perinatal health outcomes in India. 

Prior to this, Prerna worked in rural India to improve access to quality healthcare and improve health outcomes for pregnant women, and children under five years. She designed and implemented solutions, built teams, and managed strategic partnerships. 

She completed her Masters in Public Health from Imperial College London and her Bachelors in Science in Biochemistry from the University of Delhi. During her time at Imperial she was a recipient of the Wellcome Trust Centre MPH-Global Health Dissertation award for her research on Male Involvement in maternal and child health in Uganda. 

Her research interests include perinatal and neonatal health, health systems strengthening, and quality of care.
