Peter joined HERC in January 2015 while completing his Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Hamburg. His research interests include the economics of aging and retirement as well as regional variation in health. He has worked, e.g., on the mechanisms driving the health effects of retirement and spatial patterns of health in Germany. In one of his next projects, Peter will investigate behavioral responses to retirement transitions.
Before joining HERC, Peter worked at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW) in Berlin (2012-2015), where he was responsible for the socio-economic module of the Berlin Aging Study II He received a MSc in Statistics from Humboldt University Berlin in 2012, and a BA in Business Administration from Berlin School of Law and Economics (2010).
