Medical Laboratory Scientific Officer

Christopher joined Clinical Trial Service Unit and Epidemiological Studies Unit (CTSUin April 2023 as Medical Laboratory Scientific Officer for the Wolfson Laboratories at Oxford Population Health.

He is responsible for performing a variety of specialist assays, while operating a wide range of high throughput analytical equipment. Christopher uses approaches compliant with the standards of ISO 17025:2017 and supports clinical trials such as ORION-4, and EMPA kidney sub-study.

He is a registered biomedical scientist and a public health scientist with the HCPC and UK Faculty of Public Health respectively with over eight years of experience in the NHS, UKHSA, and Nigeria Centre for Disease Control as well as other clinical and public health institutions.

Christopher holds a BSc in Medical Laboratory Science and an MSc in Public Health Science. He is a scientist skilled in conventional and molecular diagnostics, laboratory management, public health, and project management. He has a particular interest in vaccine development.
