Amina Mohammed

Medical Laboratory Scientific Officer

Amina joined Oxford Population Health in April 2023 and works as a medical laboratory scientific officer at the Wolfson laboratories. Amina is responsible for performing a wide range of specialist assays and operating a variety of high throughput analytical equipment, while ensuring that the ISO 17025:2017 standards are met. Additionally, she supports clinical trial studies such as the EMPA-KIDNEY sub-study and ORION-4.

Before joining Oxford Population Health, she worked as a scientist in virology for the UK Health Security Agency. Also, she previously worked as a microbiology analyst at ALS Environmental Ltd, Coventry and as a laboratory assistant working with HIV blood samples. Her interest areas include clinical biochemistry, microbiology and reproductive biology. 

She has a BSc in biomedical science from the University of Essex and has experience in areas such as clinical biochemistry, microbiology and haematology.
