Senior Researcher

Allison Felker joined the National Perinatal Epidemiology Unit (NPEU) in April 2023 as a senior researcher for MBRRACE-UK.

Prior to her current position, Allison worked as a postdoctoral researcher at McMaster University (Canada) investigating the effect of herpes simplex virus on pregnancy outcomes. She then joined the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC) where she conducted evidence reviews and contributed to several research projects relating to perinatal mental health, substance use in pregnancy, and maternal mortality.

Allison received her PhD in Reproductive Biology from Queen’s University (Canada) with a thesis focussing on the regulation of uterine natural killer cells in early pregnancy. She received her BSc in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Waterloo (Canada).
