Blog posts and vlogs (that’s video-blogs) about topics of interest to current and prospective students of population health, alumni, or to a wider audience.
In general, we’re keen on developing content on:
- Your DPhil journey – from application and transfer, to confirmation, and the final viva.
- Personal experiences of student life – might include planning a project, balancing work and life, training experiences learning a new skill, and college life.
- Student research – share what you’re working on (and how), and why it’s interesting.
- Public engagement – who have you or would you like to share your research with. Why?
- Anything else that you would like to read!
As a matter of current relevance, we are specially calling out for blogs related to personal experiences around the COVID-19 pandemic. How has it affected you? How have you responded? How have you kept in contact with others? We believe community is all about sharing and we want our student blog to be a space for us to share.
Where?
Well, here! Please, have a look!
Why?
Share your experiences and ideas, bring your research to a wider audience, provide a window into NDPH for those just coming across us, gain writing experience, connect with new people.
When?
Any time! We’re always looking for new content, and we’re keen to receive content from people at every stage of the journey – whether just starting out, or just handed in.
Who?
The blog is produced by the NDPH DPhil and MSc student community - including recent grads, visiting students, suspended students and others in the broader community. Posts can be aimed at other students, prospective students or a wider audience. Also, novices STRONGLY encouraged. We have a how-to-blog guide available!
How?
Get writing, vlogging, or other creative-content-producing. If you do want to write a 50,000-word dry run of your thesis, good for you - but we’re equally delighted with 300-500 words and a picture! If you think an interview format would work better for your content, we can organise that.
