Phase 2.2 involved PPI (Patient and Public Involvement) consultation regarding the draft questionnaire. This phase also included the first round of cognitive testing of the draft 23-item questionnaire with patients with long-term conditions.


Five PPI advisors provided feedback on the draft LTCQ and 13 participants from the Phase 1.2 qualitative interviews took part in a cognitive interview which probed participants on the clarity and comprehensibility of the items. Following this phase, the questionnaire was revised through discussion within the team. The second version of the questionnaire contains 18 items.
