Waseem Karsan

Clinical Research Fellow

Waseem joined the Heart and Renal Studies Group at the Clinical Trial Service Unit & Epidemiological Studies Unit (CTSU) in August 2021 as a Clinical Research Fellow working on the ORION-4 trial (a randomised controlled trial assessing the effect of Inclisiran on clinical outcomes among people with cardiovascular disease).

He is also working towards completion of a higher degree during his time at CTSU.

Waseem studied medicine at the 2nd Faculty of Medicine, Charles University in Prague and graduated in 2012. He completed foundation training in 2014 and went on to complete core medical training in 2016.

He gained experience working in nephrology at Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and moved to Oxford in 2018 to pursue higher specialty training in nephrology and general internal medicine.
