Muram joined the Heart Studies Group at the Clinical Trial Service Unit (CTSU) in October 2022. She is completing a higher degree (Doctor of Medicine) with the University of Oxford looking into the long-term prevention of heart failure, and working on the ASCEND PLUS clinical trial – a randomised controlled trial assessing the effectiveness of oral semaglutide for the primary prevention of cardiovascular events in people with type 2 diabetes.

Muram is a cardiology registrar undergoing higher specialty training at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, with a subspecialty interest in complex devices. She completed her core medical training in East Sussex in 2018, during which she attained her membership of the Royal College of Physicians.

Muram is the British Cardiovascular Society (BCS) Programme Committee trainee representative, involved in organising the annual BCS conference in the UK. She is also the British Junior Cardiologists’ Association trainee representative for Oxford deanery, the Oxford Trainee Physician Committee representative for cardiology and chair, and is an advanced life support instructor and medical director.
