Holly Bihun joined the Clinical Trial Service Unit and Epidemiological Studies Unit (CTSU) in October 2024 as a DPhil student. Her research investigates ethnic differences in the associations between body composition, bone mineral density and osteoporosis. She is supervised by Dr. Jennifer Carter and Dr. Huaidong Du. 

Holly’s research is supported by the Clarendon Fund in partnership with an Oxford-St Cross E.P. Abraham Scholarship in the Chemical, Biological/Life and Medical Sciences and a Nuffield Department of Population Health Studentship. 

Prior to her DPhil, Holly completed the MSc in Global Health Science and Epidemiology at the University of Oxford. Her dissertation investigated the associations of total and regional adiposity with bone mineral density among a multi-ethnic sample of postmenopausal women in The Malaysian Cohort. She also holds a BSc in Medical Sciences from Brock University.
