The approach of the study was to examine the question of careers of medical graduates by carrying of medical graduates by carrying out case studies of nine OECD countries [ Austria, Germany, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom, USA]. The national reports of the nine countries under study are published in this supplement in alphabetical order. The following chapters summarise the data from this and other studies on migration of physician workforce and the consequences of feminisation on medicine. In the final chapter, conclusions from this study and suggestions for further research are presented.
