Lauren Wilburn

Research Facilitator

Lauren is a research coordinator in Associate Professor Goylette Chami’s Group and is facilitating the running of the SchistoTrack Cohort, which is a large-scale collaboration with the Uganda Ministry of Public Health. This project utilises interdisciplinary approaches to address key questions regarding schistosomiasis including how the pathogen is transmitted and why liver fibrosis develops in some people but not others.

She has a background in parasite and vector biology. Her PhD focused upon how the parasite Leishmania remodels its flagellum throughout its lifecycle. In her spare time, Lauren enjoys hiking, climbing and foraging.
