Project Reference Number – 0012

Plain language summary - Bowel cancer that spreads to the liver can sometimes be treated and cured. This project is looking at how surgery and ablation (freezing or burning) are used in such treatment across England.  If there are differences we will look to see if the patients are also different in terms of age, sex and stage of disease. If successful, this work will show if treatment for bowel cancer that has spread to the liver varies across the country and whether it can be improved.
