DPhil student

Denis joined the Wearables Group in 2024 as a DPhil student in Population Health. His research incorporates new wearable electrocardiogram recordings with existing large datasets to develop novel methods of predicting health outcomes. He is jointly supervised by Professor Doherty, Dr. van Duijenboden, and Professor Hopewell. 

Prior to his DPhil studies, Denis obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry at the University of Ottawa as a Schulich Leader Scholar. He subsequently pursued medicine at the University of Toronto. He has a background in clinical epidemiology, transcriptomics, health services research, and studied atrial fibrillation treatment at the Schulich Heart Centre in Toronto. He has been selected as an Amgen Scholar and completed a research fellowship in computational biochemistry at the Rockefeller University in New York.
