Lovro Savic

Postdoctoral Researcher

Lovro Savić is a postdoctoral researcher at the Ethox Centre. In 2024, he
obtained his DPhil at the Ethox Centre by defending the thesis titled 'On
the Concept of Public Health Activity.' Prior to his DPhil, he received an MSc in Bioethics (KU
Leuven, Belgium, 2018) and an MRes in Philosophy (University of Groningen, the Netherlands,
2017). His areas of interest and specialisation include the philosophy of public health, public
health ethics, bioethics, and the philosophy of medicine and psychiatry. He is an associate editor
of the European Journal of Analytic Philosophy.

He teaches courses and tutorials in medical ethics and law, ethics of medical technology, public
health ethics, philosophy of health and disease, ethics of AI in healthcare, and digital forensics.
He is currently interested in philosophical and ethical issues surrounding the ideas of common
goods and public goods in public health and medicine, the ethics of advising, global health
justice, the ethics of antimicrobial resistance, the concept of respect in bioethics, deep moral
disagreement, and methods in bioethics.

He welcomes supervision inquiries from prospective students in any of these areas.
