Rishi joined the Clinical Trial Service Unit & Epidemiological Studies Unit (CTSU) in 2023 as a DPhil student in Population Health. His doctoral work focuses on investigating the robustness of clinical trial methods and exploring Bayesian alternatives to conventional trial design. Rishi is co-supervised by Professor Peter Jüni and Dr Bruno da Costa. His doctoral studies are generously supported by a Rhodes Scholarship, which he was awarded in 2023.
Prior to joining Oxford Population Health, Rishi received his MD and Bachelor of Arts and Sciences (BArtsSc) from McMaster University, Canada. His previously published work covers a diverse range of topics from meta-research and clinical appraisal to evaluating the impact of clinical practice variations on patient outcomes. Rishi is passionate about bringing research, innovation, and advocacy together to improve healthcare. In 2021, he received the Albert Lager Prize from McMaster University to recognise his community leadership in a variety of initiatives to improve public health during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Rishi aspires to a career focused on designing and leading clinical trials to accelerate innovation in health systems, technology, and policy. In his spare time, Rishi enjoys cooking, skiing, and playing tennis and is often found enjoying an espresso at a local coffee shop.
