Tabitha Hubbard
DPhil Student
Tabitha is a currently pursuing the DPhil in Population Health in the Clinical Trial Service Unit and Epidemiological Studies Unit (CTSU) working with the Mexico City Prospective Study (MCPS) research group. Her studies are jointly funded by the Clarendon Scholarship, the Oxford-Kellogg and Oxford Population Health Scholarships.
Her research project aims to build an atlas of metabolomic risk factors by systematically assessing and comparing the relevance individual circulating metabolites to various specific diseases and causes of premature death in Mexican adults. Tabitha is supervised by Dr Diego Aguilar Ramirez, Dr Jason Torres, Dr Eirini Trichia and Dr Louisa Gnatiuc.
Tabitha obtained an MSc in Nutrition and Biomedicine (Technical University of Munich, Germany). During her MSc studies, she completed her research placement at the University of Oxford, studying the associations between lifestyle exposures (smoking, alcohol and dietary intake) and plasma metabolites in Mexican adults, within the MCPS research group.
Prior to this, she completed a first-class BSc in Nutrition (Anahuac University of Queretaro- Mexico), for which she received the CENEVAL-EGEL National Academic Excellence Medal.
