Shing Zhan

Intermediate Fellow

Shing is an intermediate fellow developing computational methods and software tools to extract evolutionary, ecological, and epidemiological insights from large-scale pathogen genomic data.

Previously, he completed his PhD at the University of British Columbia in bioinformatics with a focus on ecology and evolutionary biology. During his PhD, he was concurrently building a biotech startup that makes genomics-based assays for infectious diseases.

Prior to joining the NDPH, he was a Janssen-Oxford Translational Genomics Fellow at the NDM/BDI working on tree sequence-based methods to analyse human genomic data with Jerome Kelleher and others.
