Trial Manager
Ryonfa is a trial manager at the Clinical Trial Service Unit & Epidemiological Studies Unit (CTSU). Along with day-to-day management of running trials, Ryonfa is committed to sharing the expertise and knowledge of trial management and career development for trial managers, and is a member of the Executive Group of the UK Trial Managers’ Network.
Since joining the unit in 2012, she has worked on large-scale national and international phase III trials such as ASCEND and REVEAL and is currently working on EMPA-KIDNEY coordinating the study operation in Japan. She is passionate about introducing and implementing the CTSU approach of running streamlined trials in Japan.
Before she joined the CTSU, Ryonfa completed a PhD in Germany in radiation biophysics and conducted research as a post-doc in cancer radiotherapy with charged particles in Germany and the UK. Her BA and Master degrees were awarded in Japan.
