Systems Analyst

Marta is a Systems Analyst, responsible for eliciting, analysing and specifying the requirements for UK Biobank and its supporting systems. She collaborates with development teams, user groups, testing/validation team and study administration teams and investigates ways to meet new requirements or improve existing functionality. 

Previously Marta worked for the University of Oxford as a Human Factors Researcher and her tasks relied on applying her knowledge of human factors tools and methods to the design, development, and testing of visual systems, which combined information from several sources and presented meaningful data to users. Marta moderated users’ research sessions and was responsible for data gathering, analysis and the presentation of qualitative and quantitative data from a variety of sources. 

She adapted existing and developed new research methodologies and materials within recognised human factors methods to facilitate liaison with scientists from a wide variety of academic backgrounds. Her last projects include Wellcome Trust and Department of Health funded Hospital Alerting via Electronic Noticeboard (HAVEN) funded though the Research for Patient Benefit stream. 

Marta’s academic interests focus on cognitive decision-making under risk, risk perception, organisational behaviour, human-computer interaction, user experience, information processing, digital health, individual (patient/worker) and organisation safety and decision-making improvement.
