Krys Baker

Research Co-ordinator

Krys Baker is a Research Co-ordinator who originally joined the Cancer Epidemiology Unit in 1984, and has been involved in data management and co-ordination of many epidemiological studies within the unit, including studies on testicular cancer, childhood cancer, effects of electromagnetic fields, and cervical cancer. Following a four-year spell working as Senior Trial Co-ordinator in the Birmingham Clinical Trials Unit, Krys returned to CEU in 2014 as Research Co-ordinator of the unit.  Her current role involves obtaining approvals for data linkage with the National Health Service (NHS) and Trial Co-ordination for the NHS Breast Screening Programme (NHSBP) Age-Extension Trial and the European Prospective Investigation into Cancer and Nutrition (EPIC) Oxford study.  She is also co-ordinating tissue sample collection for the Million Women Study and the EPIC-Oxford study.

Krys spends some of her spare time singing in a local choir, and taking her Labrador Retriever for a walk on weekends.
