Kieran Johnstone
DPhil Student
Kieran began his DPhil in Population Health in October 2025. His research uses big data approaches to identify patients at risk of harm from bacterial infections. He is co-supervised by Professors David Eyre, Sarah Walker, and Danny Wilson.
Before starting his DPhil, Kieran worked as a medical doctor. He studied Medicine and completed a BSc in Medical Sciences with Global Health, both at Imperial College London. He is currently a specialist trainee in Emergency Medicine based in the Thames Valley Region.
Kieran’s academic and professional interests lie at the intersection of emergency care and population health.
