Georgina Buck gained a joint honours degree in Mathematics and Psychology at Nottingham University (1991-1994) and a Masters in Statistics with Applications in Medicine at Southampton University (1994-1995) before joining CTSU (now part of NDPH) in 1995. She worked on the Medical Research Council leukaemia trials until their transfer in 2013-2016 and started working on the ASCEND (A Study of Cardiovascular Events iN Diabetes) trial in 2014. She is currently the only statistician who works solely on ASCEND.
