He holds a BSc in Mathematics from Durham University, where he specialised in applied mathematics. He then completed an MSc in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at Oxford Brookes University. For his MSc dissertation, David explored the application of deep learning time-series methods to predict Type 2 Diabetes health outcomes using electronic health record data from the MIMIC-IV cohort. This work was carried out in collaboration with researchers from the Institut de Recerca i Innovació en Salut (IRIS) at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in Barcelona, Spain. Outside of research, David enjoy playing hockey for Oxford Hockey Club and spending time playing board games.+
