Biomarker Specialist

Christopher joined the Clinical Trial Service Unit and Epidemiological Studies Unit (CTSU) in April 2023 as a Medical Laboratory Scientific Officer within the Wolfson Laboratories at Oxford Population Health. He has since been promoted to Biomarker Specialist, reflecting his growing expertise in biomedical science and clinical trial operations.

His work focuses on biomarker method verification and validation to support large-scale clinical trials, including ORION-4, EMPA-Kidney sub-study, and EASi-Kidney. He performs a range of specialist biochemical and immunoassay analyses using high-throughput analytical platforms and ensures that all processes align with ISO 17025:2017 quality standards. Christopher plays a key role in maintaining analytical accuracy, data integrity, and compliance within Good Clinical and Laboratory Practice frameworks.

A Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC)–registered Biomedical Scientist and Practitioner Member of the Faculty of Public Health (UK), Christopher brings over eight years of combined experience across the NHS, UKHSA, and Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, as well as other clinical and public health institutions. His multidisciplinary background spans infectious disease surveillance, antimicrobial resistance (AMR) monitoring, epidemiological analysis, and laboratory systems strengthening.

Christopher holds a BSc in Medical Laboratory Science and an MSc in Public Health Science. His professional interests include infectious disease epidemiology, AMR, and vaccine development. He is passionate about integrating laboratory data with epidemiological intelligence to inform evidence-based health policy and strengthen health system resilience.
