Director of Communications and Public Engagement

Anne is responsible for developing and managing Oxford Population Health’s internal and external communications strategies and plans. She works with researchers and the other members of the Communications and Public Engagement Team to engage a range of stakeholders in the work of the department, maximise the impact of the department’s work, and improve understanding of population health science in general. 

In addition to overseeing the department’s media relations, digital engagement, branding, events, and internal communications, Anne also oversees public, patient, and participant involvement and engagement activities. She works closely with the departmental Strategic Oversight Committee, with colleagues in other parts of the University of Oxford and partners in external organisations. She is a member of the departmental Athena SWAN Self-Assessment Team.    

Anne joined Oxford Population Health in 2018. She worked for the BBC for 12 years and has worked in higher education, in a variety of roles, since 2003. Her expertise spans alumni relations, communications, marketing and public relations. She is a Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) Accredited Practitioner and a former member of the CIPR Education & Skills Committee.
