Pengfei joined the Clinical Trial Service Unit & Epidemiological Studies Unite (CTSU) in October 2017, and is studying a DPhil in population health. Her research aimed to study the relationship between adiposity and chronic kidney disease using data from UK Biobank (UKB) and Study of Heart and Renal Protection (SHARP) through classical epidemiological methods and Mendelian randomisation experiments.
Prior to her DPhil, Pengfei completed her MBBS in Shandong University, China and MSc in Global Health Science at University of Oxford. Her MSc dissertation validated QRISK3 in people with mild-to-advanced chronic kidney disease (CKD), and developed and validated a new cardiovascular risk score (CKD-CVD Risk Score) using a primary prevention CKD cohort.
