Medical statistician

Parisa Hariri is a medical statistician at the Clinical Trial Service Unit and Epidemiological Studies Unit (CTSU), working on the China Kadoorie Biobank. 

She has an MSc in Statistics and a PhD in mathematics from the University of Turku, Finland. Her previous experience includes working for a pharmaceutical company (CRO) in Finland, specialising on design and analysis of clinical trials. There she was involved in studies in different clinical phases and from various therapeutic areas. 

Previously she worked at the University of Oxford Vaccine Group in the Department of Paediatrics, working on paediatric TB diagnostic studies, in collaboration with statisticians and epidemiologists from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). She was also involved in real world data analysis from clinical observational studies and national/international clinical trials of vaccines and infectious diseases. 

Currently, she is involved in implementing detailed statistical analysis, using conventional and novel methods, of large, complex and multi-dimensional data collected or to be generated, in the CKB. She will also contribute to development of a library of well-structured statistical analysis programming code.
