Linda Mottram
SurfON Trial Manager
Linda works as a clinical trial manager for the SurfON trial. She first joined the NPEU in 2011 in a maternity leave role as trial coordinator of the INFANT study. This was the largest obstetric study undertaken in the UK to date recruiting 46,000 women. Since then she has worked in various trial management and senior research midwife roles within the unit including most recently the ANODE and FROSTTIE trials. She has also worked as a clinical trial monitor for both PHOENIX and PITCHES.
Linda qualified as a midwife in 2003 and went on to practice in an obstetric unit, midwifery led unit and within the community. Following the completion of a Master of Midwifery and Research with the University of Sheffield in 2008 she moved into research. During her midwifery training Linda had her student diaries published in MIDIRS Midwifery Digest and has since published a compilation of these in a book entitled ‘Midlife to Midwife’.
