Lauren joined the BHF Centre on Population Approaches for Non-Communicable Disease Prevention in November 2015 to assist on the BHF Cardiovascular Statistics Compendia. Her work involves the compilation and analysis of large datasets to determine trends in cardiovascular disease, coronary heart disease and stroke mortality in the UK and Europe. This includes a comparative analysis of cardiovascular disease with cancer mortality trends over recent decades. Lauren also contributes to supplements and factsheets by researching trends in cardiovascular disease risk factors in the UK.
Lauren has a BSc in Nutrition from the University of Surrey and recently completed a Masters in Sport and Health Sciences from the University of Exeter. Her interests involve using multi-disciplinary approaches to improve public health behaviours such as the interaction of environmental and socio-demographic factors.
