Training and Diversity Facilitator
Laura joined the Nuffield Department of Public Health in 2019. Her role focuses on two departmental priorities. Firstly as the diversity facilitator, she coordinates Athena SWAN related activities aimed at improving career opportunities and promoting gender balance. NDPH were first awarded a Silver level award in April 2015 and this was renewed in November 2018.
Secondly as the training facilitator, Laura oversees learning and professional development to enable staff to fulfil their potential in the department. She administers the mentoring scheme, manages the delivery of training and development programmes, identifies learning needs, and supports the Training Committee.

Laura has worked for the University of Oxford since 2016, most recently as the Participatory Research Officer leading on Public Engagement for the research group, Neuroscience, Ethics and Society in the Department of Psychiatry, and before as Research Project Coordinator for the Brain 4 Maths study in the Department of Experimental Psychology. Prior to joining the University, Laura worked in the voluntary sector with Oxfordshire Mind, the mental health charity, leading on the public engagement and training programme, and fundraising for various charities including Oxfam GB.
