At the Health Economics Research Centre, Jilles focuses on the economics of genetic and genomic technologies such as high-throughput next-generation sequencing in cancer research (TSB) and whole-genome sequencing in mycobacteria and humans for individual patient care (HICF/HICF2). He is also involved in the By-Band trial comparing laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding and laparoscopic gastric bypass surgery to treat complex obesity. In addition, Jilles is an honorary NHS researcher at the Oxford Molecular Diagnostics Centre.
His research interests include genetic and genomic technologies, discrete choice experiments, cancer research, economic evaluations, clinical trials and translational research.
Jilles is convenor for the HERC seminar series; please see the seminar webpages for further information.
