Researcher, Cardiovascular Disease Epidemiology Programme
Lizzie joined the CPNP as a Researcher in 2016, following completion of her MSc in Population and Development at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Lizzie’s research interests relate to the interplay between population, development and health, with a focus on non-communicable diseases (NCDs). She is currently investigating the relationship between mortality trends and political changes in Europe, building on her work analysing the burden of CVD in Europe for the European Cardiovascular Report 2017. Lizzie has also been involved in several WHO Collaborating Centre projects, including a systematic review of the impact of maternal nutrition on offspring’s risk of NCDs, and the development of guidance on the construction of multisectoral action plans to address NCDs in the WHO Eastern Mediterranean Region. Lizzie is a lecturer and tutor on the Human Sciences undergraduate course in Oxford, which she herself read from 2011-2014.
