Cat joined the Sustainable Food, Environment and NCDs group in April 2021. Her research interests include food labelling and marketing, nutrient profiling and dietary guidelines, health policy modelling and the intersection between food systems and sustainability. She is working on different projects in these areas as well as epidemiological studies looking at health inequalities on NCDs.

She studied undergraduate Medicine in Portugal and continued her postgraduate medical training in Oxford and Manchester. She completed her DPhil in Oxford and, simultaneously, her MPH in King’s College London in July 2020. Since then, she has been an Academic Clinical Fellow in Public Health Medicine in King’s College London, where she is actively involved in teaching and doing educational research. She is also an honorary research fellow in The George Institute for Global Health, where she is involved in research related to sex and gender inequalities in academia and health.
