Alison joined the Cancer Epidemiology Unit as a research facilitator supporting the EPIC-Oxford and Million Women Studies. She supports the co-ordination of the collection, management and sharing of health-related data. Her responsibilities include monitoring and managing ethics approvals, applications through IRAS, data linkage from NHS providers, research service agreements, data protection, study-specific information governance requirements, preparation of audits and study-specific documentation, version control, study updates, and progress reporting. She contributes ideas to facilitate project management, the publication of materials and presentations. Alison also assists with the management of biological tissue samples as part of a team at UK Biocentre.
Alison previously worked in the Nuffield Department of Orthopaedics, Rheumatology and Musculoskeletal Sciences (NDORMS) where she managed a portfolio of clinical research studies including CTIMPS and observational studies in rheumatology and surgical randomised controlled trials in Orthopaedics and Musculoskeletal Sciences.
Alison has worked closely with other departments and organisations including the Research Governance, Ethics and Assurance Team, the Research and Development Offices in Oxford and other NHS Trusts, Ethics Committees, Information Governance and UK Biobank. She has also promoted the University's health research at public engagement events.
