Abby Edwards

Trial Administrative Assistant/Data Coordinator

I joined the National Perinatal Epidemiology Unit (NPEU) in July 2024 as a trial administrative assistant/data coordinator, working primarily on the set up and running of the MAMA trial, a study looking at the outcomes of stopping or continuing inflammatory arthritis medication during pregnancy.

Prior to joining the NPEU, I initially qualified as a physiotherapist, briefly working within the area of orthopaedics. I then moved into the area of oncology clinical research in 2011, working as a patient facing research practitioner, leading a variety of prostate, breast and colorectal cancer trials, of which many changed our clinical practice in regards to improvements in both diagnostic and patient treatment pathways.

I am now looking forward to a new challenge working with the team at the NPEU on the MAMA trial.
