  • Respiratory disease HTA and economic evaluations

The DEFINE study involves the development and randomised controlled trial evaluation of an online FeNO‑guided primary care asthma management intervention. The study is exploring whether measuring fractional exhaled nitric oxide (FeNO) in GP surgeries can improve the management of patients with asthma by helping healthcare professionals provide a more personalised approach.

A within‑trial economic evaluation is integrated into the RCT to estimate the cost‑effectiveness of the intervention from the perspective of the UK NHS, patients and society. Long‑term cost‑effectiveness will be modelled, alongside a budget impact assessment.
