  • Mental health HTA and economic evaluations

Childhood Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) typically begins around age 10.5 and affects up to 3% of preadolescent children. Nonetheless, access to effective CBT, particularly exposure and response prevention, is limited due to its length and reliance on specialist therapists.

This project aims to increase access for preadolescent children by adapting a brief, online, therapist‑supported, parent‑led CBT intervention (OSI), which requires substantially less therapist time. The study will co‑develop the adapted intervention with input from families and evaluate it through a feasibility randomised controlled trial comparing OSI for OCD with usual care. It will examine feasibility, acceptability, clinical and economic measures and the potential for a definitive full trial to assess clinical outcomes and cost‑effectiveness.
