A technique is described for preparing neutrophils (PMN) from small volumes of porcine blood as would be obtained from newborn piglets. The method involves dilution of anticoagulated blood to 50% with phosphate buffered saline followed by two steps of hypotonic lysis. The bactericidal efficiency of PMN produced in this way was shown to be unimpaired. © 1985.
