WHO Collaborating Centre's Terms of Reference
The Centre on Population Approaches for Non-Communicable Disease Prevention is a collaborating centre with the World Health Organization
In October 2013 the British Heart Foundation Health Promotion Research Group (renamed the Centre on Population Approaches for Non-Communicable Disease Prevention (CPNP) in 2017) was designated as a WHO Collaborating Centre on Population Approaches for Non-Communicable Disease Prevention and in October 2017 the CPNP was redesignated as a collaborating centre for a further four years.
The terms of reference for the collaborating centre are:
- To work with WHO in capacity building for NCD prevention and control including development of appropriate tools
- To contribute to WHO's work in implementing guidelines and policy actions for promoting physical activity and a healthy and a sustainable food environment to prevent obesity and NCDs
- To assist WHO in systematic reviews and analysis of evidence related to population based NCD prevention and control
- To contribute to the work related to the development, implementation and evaluation of multi-sectoral NCD action plans
