Tianshu Liu

I am a DPhil student jointly funded by Clarendon Scholarship and NDPH. My research specifically looks at links between large genetic datasets and vascular-metabolic mortality using data from Mexico City Prospective Study (MCPS). I joined NDPH in October 2022 and am supervised by Jonathan Emberson, Louisa Gnatiuc and Jason Torres. 

Prior to starting my DPhiI I worked for around a year at Oxford Clinical Trials Unit (OCTRU) as a medical statistician, providing statistical support to the design, setup, conduct and analysis of clinical trials. 

I completed my Master's degree in Health Data Analytics and Machine Learning at Imperial College London in 2021. This degree focused on using machine learning and other applied statistical tools to evaluate and predict health science issues. For my final project I identified biomarkers for COVID-19 severity. Prior to that, I obtained a first-class degree and Dean's List award from University College London, studying economics and statistics.
