Fiorella joined the Health Economics Research Centre in April 2021. She previously worked as a Research Associate in EQUIPOL (The Equity in Health Policy Research Group) at the University of York, after doing a placement at the Centre for Health Economics (CHE) at the same institution. She also worked as an international consultant in the Economics of Non-communicable diseases team at the Pan American Health Organization (Washington D.C.). Before arriving to the UK, Fiorella worked as a Research Assistant at Universidad del Pacifico (Lima, Peru) Research Centre, and at the Centre for Intercultural Health in the National Institute of Health in Peru.
Fiorella’s research focuses on health and healthcare inequalities and poverty using applied microeconometrics methods and spatial analysis. She has worked on indigenous maternal health in the Peruvian Amazon, and analysed the nature, magnitude, and causes of social inequality of health-care delivery from a global perspective.
Fiorella holds an MSc in Health Economics from the University of York, and a Bachelor in Economics from Universidad del Pacifico (Lima, Peru).
