Researcher in Social Care (Maternity Cover)

My background is in political science mainly concentrating on how public policy develops.  My PhD. focused on the development of policy around the transition to adult care for cerebral palsy patients in Scotland and the levels of that care across the local authority and NHS areas of Scotland.

After completing my PhD in 2018, I worked at the University of Stirling investigating people’s experiences on using self-directed support in Scotland to provide access support with social care needs in the home.

I joined the Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences at the University of Oxford in 2020 to work on the Flourishing Lives project to  explore what people with learning disabilities think good social care support is and how support workers can help them to live full and flourishing lives.

I joined the NDPH in 2023 to work on an NIHR ARC project looking at the needs of care homes in the Thames Valley accessing non-hospital services for their residents.
