DPhil Student

Jiahua Li joined the Nuffield Department of Population Health (NDPH) and Big Data Institute in October 2022 under the supervision of Prof. Bartek Papiez and Dr. James Grist. Mr. Li is passionate about research on machine learning for medical imaging and Monte Carlo-based accelerator modelling. His DPhil research focuses on AI-assisted medical imaging registration for various modalities (e.g. pMRI, XeMRI, CT, etc.). In addition, his doctoral research will be extended to exploit an optimal strategy (e.g. active learning) for annotation and segmentation in large data sets.

Prior to registering at NPDH, Mr. Li gained a Master's degree in Radiation Biology awarded by the University of Oxford, with the dissertation 'Characterisation and Application of the Oxford Alpha-particle Irradiator and Birmingham Beamline to Determine the Impact of High-LET Particles in Cell Models'.
